Jane Hamsher
writes that she took down
the photoshopped image of Joe Lieberman in blackface at the request of the Lamont campaign.
After a Lamont campaign rally in Bridgeport tonight — at which Al Sharpton was the keynote speaker — a reporter asked Jesse Jackson what he thought about the controversy over the photoshopped image. He said,
That's really low-level stuff. This campaign is really about the war. This is really about trade policy. This is really about health care. That's not this campaign. [Lamont] did not commission that. At this point in the election, you're going to have all kinds of distracting stuff.
Jackson's response was essentially the same when another reporter asked him about Lieberman's campaign fliers which criticized Lamont for belonging to an exclusive country club. He called it a distraction from the real issues. More on the rally in a few.
