Pre-Debate Coverage [Greg Pollowitz]
The battle before the debate has begun.  George Allen's campaign has blanketed the one road that leads to the debate site with campaign signs.  There are no signs whatsoever for Jim Webb's campaign.  As a matter of fact, I've yet to see any sign or bumper sticker for Jim Webb on the entire drive down from NYC.  I did see, however, an old barn that had "Virginia is Warner Country" painted on its side.  The paint was faded and not done in anticipation of Warner's 2008 presidential run.

I did have the pleasure to meet one of the candidates for Senate:  Glenda Parker. (Who knew there was a third candidate in the race?)  She handed me her business card as I entered the press room. To be honest, as this is a Lawyer's convention, I thought she was networking for legal work or something like that.  Parker is campaigning on a platform of "Clean Air, Clean Water, Rail Now!  More Trains, Less Traffic!"  She isn't participating in today's debate, but I'm sure everyone in attendance will leave with one of her cards.
